If you plan on stopping out at the
nursery to set up your landscape package design, there's a few things to
keep in mind to assure your needs are fulfilled:
- Set up a time to visit regarding your landscape design and
installation. Spring and early summer are our busiest
times of the year, and every day seems to bring a new and unexpected
agenda for us. To be sure someone will be on site to help you,
and to better plan our day so that we may offer you an appropriate
amount of time, we strongly recommend that you schedule an
appointment here at the nursery. The best time to plan on
stopping out is during the week, Monday through Friday. You
can be involved in your design as little or as much as you like,
however, keep in mind that an in-depth consultation can take over an
hour.
- Bring pictures and measurements of your beds, house, windows,
and any areas that are going to be potentially landscaped.
Before we can give you plant recommendations, we will need to know
how much area we are working with. Note the height and width
of windows if present.
- Be aware of the sunlight exposure on your property.
Whether you're going to have dwarf mountain laurel or weigelas
around your patio is going to depend greatly on the amount of sun
the area gets. Know what time of day the sun is present in an
area, because 3 hours of morning sunlight exposure is not the same
as 3 hours of mid-day sunlight exposure.
- Tell us what you like. Remember, this is your
landscape - don't buy on impulse! We have thousands of
varieties of trees, shrubs, and perennials - unless you plan on
selling your house within the next few years, you should be picking
plants that appeal to YOUR interests. Do you prefer things
that are showy or long-blooming, flowering or evergreen? Cool
colors or warm colors? Any plants that you absolutely
adore...or despise?
- Consider filling out a landscape questionnaire. We
have a quick questionnaire specifically designed to help us help
you. It is available to download off of our website
here,
or you can pick one up at the nursery. Your answers to our
questions will provide us with useful information that helps us
determine your landscaping needs.
We are more than happy to help plan out your
landscaping with you. If you have any questions regarding a
nursery consultation or our landscape packages, feel free to call us at
