Deciduous Native

Known for its airy fluffy summer plumes and the brilliant fall color of reds, oranges, yellow, and purples this native shrub/tree adds so much to the landscape! Blooms occur in early summer and are typically insignificant green with the real show coming after. The spent blooms are surrounded by 'hairs' that are pinkish purple and create the airy clusters this plant gets its common name from. Adaptable to many types of soils and even does well in poor rocky soils. Best in full sun in average well drained soil.
