How Much Mulch do you Need? This is always a tough question to answer. Measure your beds and figure out the square footage. Remember Length times the width gives you the square footage. A new landscape should have 2-3" of mulch applied when the plants are installed. If you have mulched in previous years you do not need to add 2-3" every year just because your neighbors are doing that. For new beds plan on using approximately one cubic yard of mulch per 100 square feet of bed area. For previously mulched beds plan on using about 1/3 to 1/2 as much mulch as with a new bed. One cubic yard will cover approximately 200 to 300 square feet of bed area. In an established bed, keep in mind that your plants cover some of the bed square footage. For Spring 2006 our mulch prices are: $30.00 per cubic yard for 3 to 4 cubic yards $28.00 per Cubic yard for 5 cubic yards or more $15.00 local delivery (within 15 miles of Schwenksville zip 19473) After you figure out how much mulch you need e-mail us your order
