Mycor™ TreeSaver®

Several years ago we began planting with Mycor TreeSaverâ and the results have spoken for themselves.  We strongly recommend using it, and here are the reasons why:

What Is It?

TreeSaverâ contains three main ingredients:

1.      Mycorrhizal Fungi

2.      Terra-Sorbâ Hydrogel

3.      Biostimulants

How Does It Work?

Mycorrhiza is the main ingredient.  Mycorrhizae are beneficial fungi that grow on the roots of a plant.  In nature more than 90% of plants have some form of mycorrhiza on their roots.  Mycorrhiza establishes a long-term relationship that benefits both itself and the plant.  The benefits the plant gains from mycorrhizal colonization include:

Ø      Increased water absorption (by as much as 700%)

Ø      Increased nutrient absorption (especially phosphorus)

Ø      Increased levels of plant hormones

Ø      Increased stress tolerance

Ø      Decreased probability of plant disease

Hydrogel is a temporary ingredient.  Hydrogel absorbs and stores water, which keeps the soil moist.  Plants can access the water during times of drought.  Terra-Sorbâ hydrogel lasts for approximately five years in the soil, helping the plant through the critical time of root establishment.

Biostimulants, which are natural humates, plant extracts, and rhizosphere bacteria, enrich the soil profile.  This creates a good environment for beneficial microbes to grow in.

How Do I Use It?

TreeSaver is sold in three-ounce packets. It is best used at the time of planting.

1.      Dig the hole for the plant.

2.      Place the plant in the hole.  Fill in approximately half of the soil.

3.      Incorporate the correct amount of TreeSaverâ.

4.   Finish filling the hole with soil.

Can I Use It On All My Plants?

TreeSaver is compatible with most ornamental plants. Ericaceous plants (those belonging to the Ericaceace family) are the exception. They need specialized mycorrhizae, so TreeSaver is not effective. This means TreeSaver should not be used with Azaleas, Rhododendrons, Mountain Laurels, and Pieris.
