A native fruit tree! A small tree with round green edible fruit that has a taste similar to banana. Flowers aren't especially showy but interesting to look at. They are a lurid purple and will bloom before the tree is leafed out. Fruit will ripen in late summer early fall. Pawpaw can be grown as a multi stemmed or a single stem tree. Produces a golden yellow to yellow fall color. You will need more than one to produce fruit. Prefers full sun to part shade with medium to wet soil. Tolerates black walnut.
