Blooming in early spring this native bulb produces light to dark blue violet star shaped flowers. Blooming from about April to June and then going dormant in the summer heat. Native habitat is typically seasonally wet areas that dry out in spring. Flowers rise out of basal foliage that is grass like. Growing to about 1-3 feet tall in full sun to part shade.
