This deciduous shrub will bloom from April to May with showy bottle brush shaped flowers. The flowers will also have a nice honey fragrance to them. The flowers are attractive to pollinators. The fall color is absolutely gorgeous ranging from yellow oranges to red purples depending. Handsome dark green foliage in the summer. Prefers full sun to part shade and moist well drained soils. It has an upright habit and will spread by root suckers.
