The violet spiked flowers bloom from top to bottom throughout summer. Flowers are soft and wispy providing a unique texture. Foliage is a nice green with a grass like appearance. An easy to grow perennial for hard to plant sunny locations. This native attracts many types of pollinators like butterflies. Grows to 3-4 feet tall and 16-20 inches wide. Prefers full sun and well drained soils. It isn't too picky about soil quality. Drought tolerant once established and deer resistant.
