Corylus americana 'Sun Harvest' is a cultivar of the native American Hazelnut, Corylus americana. This shrub features fall foliage, edible hazelnuts, and long, dangly flowers in the spring. The hazelnuts are edible to humans and can be used like the European Hazelnut, but are often left for wildlife. Squirrels, foxes, turkeys, and woodpeckers love the hazelnuts. This shrub is a host plant to the Luna Moth and other native moths as well.
