A great choice for dry, rocky, poor well drained soil areas. Flowers are typically larger than other species with more flower heads per plant. Wispy soft distinct purple blooms are highly attractive to butterflies. Not commonly found in the wild in its native range but its a gorgeous plant that deserves some attention! Blooms from mid summer into the fall in full sun. Adapts to part shade more readily than other species. Does not like to any winter wetness. Grows to 5 feet tall by 2 feet wide.
