An attractive native warm season grass that's easy to grow in most areas as long as its sunny! Clump forming habit of green blades that are topped with pink tinged flower panicles in summer. Flowers will give way to beige seed heads in the fall that the birds will absolutely love. This is also a larval host plant which will bring butterflies to your yard. Switch grass prefers full sun, it will tolerate part shade but typically won't have as good of an upright shape. It's not overly particular on the soil does well in dry once established, grows in wet and moist areas and will even tolerate some occasional flooding. Switch grass definitely seems to prefer leaner soils as well.
