Although this may not be the showiest plant out there it is a pollinator powerhouse! The small white flower clusters attract just about every type of pollinator out there. If you are curious about the common name... it was found that this plant contains Quinine which has been used as a treatment for Malaria. Although the most used source was the Cinchona tree.

Back to the pollinators! You can find many different types of native bees visiting for both nectar and pollen. You will also find different species of flies. Some of them are pollinating flies while others are predatory and will help keep garden pests away.

This plant is tough. It handles heat and humidity really well and blooms strong throughout the summer. Grows natively in dry sunny prairies. It is probably best suited for naturalized areas and meadows where it can be kept in check by other plants. The foliage is rough and coarse so deer and other mammals tend to keep away.
