Bright cherry flowers on this garden staple. A straight native species that attracts all kinds of pollinators and birds! An easy to grow reliable perennial! Grows in almost any soil condition as long as its well drained. It does best in full sun but it can be grown in part shade. Growing to about 2-3 feet tall and 1-2 feet wide. Dense branching that comes from the hairy basal foliage provides you with loads of flowers all through summer into fall! It will spread by rhizomes and seed so it is a great plant for meadows and naturalizing. Can be divided. This is a great plant for butterfly gardens as it is a host plant. Birds enjoy the seeds in the fall. Because of the hairy leaves it does have some deer resistance but it is browsed by deer in this area.
