Native tree that produces spectacular fall color in addition to pretty flowers. Multi season interest and being a small to medium size make this a great option for an array of landscapes. Spring blooms are small five petaled white flowers. Flowers turn into black edible fruits that the birds love. Fruits will ripen around June. Flowers are a great food source for pollinators, while the berries will be enjoyed by birds and other mammals. If that wasn't enough it is also a larval host for Red-spotted Purple and Viceroy butterflies! Fall color ranges from yellow, orange, and red. It is one of the best fall colors on native trees. Prefers full sun to part shade and moist well drained soil. Will tolerate full shade and drier soils.
