A native small tree or large shrub that produces copious amounts of white flowers in spring that will eventually turn to red fruit in late summer/early fall.

Great for wildlife with the nectar supply from the flowers that will attract bees. This is also a larval host plant for several butterflies such as Coral Hairstreak and Spring Azure. The fruit is eaten by birds and other mammals.
