Pinxterbloom is one of the more commonly seen native azaleas in our Pennsylvania forests. Know for its white and pink blooms that typically appear in early spring late April/early May. The blooms appear before the foliage emerges for the season making it stand out against the green back drop of our forests.
Pinxterblooms are a slow growing species so it's rare to see them getting into the 10 foot range. They can be more sensitive about growing conditions, liking moist but not wet conditions and just the right amount of sun (usually part day).
