A dwarf species of our native Euonymus only getting to be about a foot and half tall. The flowers are small greenish purple with five petals. They can usually be seen sitting on top of the leaves usually in mid-spring. After blooming reddish pink fruits are produced. Running Strawberry Bush has great red, purple, and orange fall colors.

Different types of birds and mammals will eat the berries.

This is a great native ground cover for forest and woodland settings. It likes moister soils and can handle quite as bit of shade.
