A showy magnolia that blooms later in spring to avoid frost damage. Produces beautiful large purplish dark pink blooms from April to May. Blooms are fragrant. A smaller sized tree at 10-12 feet tall and wide. It has a shrubby compact habit and is slow growing. This deciduous tree prefers full dun to part shade with medium soil moisture that is well drained.
