A smaller tree at 15 to 25 feet tall with big ornamental value! Beautiful light pink flowers with dark pink centers emerge in spring followed by ruby red new foliage that matures into a deep dark purple. Foliage remains purple throughout growing season. 'Thundercloud' is said to have on of the darkest purple foliages on an ornamental plum allowing for beautiful contrasts in your landscape. After flowering small red fruit is produced that the birds will enjoy. Pollinators are attracted to the fragrant blooms. It has a dense upright habit for a clean look. Prefers full sun to part shade and well drained soils with medium moisture levels.
