Rare in its native range this is a stunning perennial with bright crimson flowers that thrive in dry to moist well drained soils. Common name comes from the stickiness of the calyx that sometimes catches small insects.

Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies with its long bright red tubular flowers.

Not known to be a very long lived perennial but it will reseed itself if allowed.
