Native to woodland areas this spring blooming perennial produces pale yellow bell shaped flowers. The flowers nod toward the ground with their long petals. The flowers are typically paler yellow than its relative the large bellflower (Uvularia grandiflora).
In addition to generalist pollinators Uvularia supports the specialized bee Andrena uvulariae.
This species spreads by stolons and can form nice colonies, making it a great woodland ground cover. Uvularia prefers rich moist soils so it is best to make sure it has a nice covering of leaves over it for the winter which does not need to be removed in spring.
