A late bloomer of purple 'tufts' of flowers. A nice addition to a rain garden as it can handle periods of flood and wet soil. It will usually grow 3-5 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide but can get taller in wetter areas. The long tubular flowers are especially attractive to butterflies. Hairy stems and leaves tend to keep the deer away, while the seed clusters in fall will attracts songbirds. Prefers full sun.
