This multi-stemmed native is excellent for wet sites and stream bank restorations. It suckers and will form a thicket. This plant produces attractive catkins, which in turn turn into cones and are enjoyed by birds. Grows 10-20' tall and 8-15' wide in full to part sun. Prefers moist to wet soil. A larval host plant for Harvester Butterfly Caterpillars and in their adult form will eat aphids which is a bonus!
