Although this shrub is native to moist areas it can tolerate average soil if kept well watered. The summer flowers are delightfully fragrant and attract loads of pollinators. Plant it where the fragrance can be enjoyed. The fall color is a striking yellow. Looks great when planted in mass. If you do not want it to form a colony remove suckers immediately but we think you should let them grow- more flowers, more, fragrance, and more for the pollinators! Can get up to 8 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide in full to part shade.
