'Ruby Spice' is a pink flowering cultivar compared to the traditional white of Summersweet! Different color but same showy fragrant spiked flowers. Blooms in late summer then in fall ornamental seed heads are produced.

Pollinators adore these blooms! You will see bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds collecting the sweet nectar. The seeds are eaten by birds.

Summersweet leafs out late in the spring, usually after most other plants. Prefers moist sites and can tolerate some flooding, a good option for rain gardens and stream banks.
