Full bushy vase shaped habit on this bicolored Baptisia! As the name suggests the flowers are mahogany on the outside with yellow peaking out that really does remind of you a roasted nut! Flowers will age to a nice bright yellow then will transition to seed pods. The highly ornamental seed pods have seeds that will rattle around inside which ends up being rather fun! Birds will love the seeds and pollinators will lobe the flowers! Baptisia tends to be slower to establish but when established it has a strong tap root and is a very long lived perennial. Best grown in full sun but will tolerate some shade. If planted in shade it will tend to flop and you may have to stake it.
