A lovely ground cover that fills in nicely. This selection produces large white flowers with yellow crests, standing out from the species typical light blue. 'Tennessee White' also boasts a long bloom time than other selections. Foliage spreads by rhizomes to make a lush green carpet.

Pollinators such as hummingbirds and bumblebees enjoy the early spring blooms. It is a early nectar source for our local pollinators.

Preferring moist part shade woodland setting but its quite adaptable to other conditions. The more sun the more moisture it will typically need. It has done well in drier shade areas which can be hard to plant. Iris cristata tends to like richer soils but sometimes if the soil is too rich you may get a lot of foliar growth but no flowers.
