This unusually colored Iris bears copper colored blooms as the common name suggests. Color can vary slightly from being more reddish or more orange. A spring bloomer that is nicely accented by its thin light green leaves.

This unusually colored Iris bears copper colored blooms as the common name suggests. Color can vary slightly from being more reddish or more orange. A spring bloomer that is nicely accented by its thin light green leaves.

This species is said to be pollinated by hummingbirds. Butterflies have been seen nectaring at the blooms.

Prefers consistently wet soils and can even be submerged up to 6 inches. Found naturally growing along streams, in swamps, and wet meadows. This would make a great addition for water features or in rain gardens. Deer don't find Iris palatable.
