Fragrant early blooming variety with double flowers. Although still blooming early (March) 'Royal Star' tends to bloom a couple of weeks later than other varieties which helps protect it from frost damage. This species is absolutely covered in blooms putting on a magnificent show.  

Grows into an open branched multi stemmed small tree or large shrub. It is a relatively slow-growing species.
