Not called Big Leaf Magnolia for nothing! The leaves can get up to a whopping 30 inches long. The large leaves are accompanied by large white flowers that bloom in late spring. Bright red showy fruits are then formed in the late summer.
Flowers will attract pollinators like hummingbirds and birds will enjoy the seeds.
Can be a bit picky about the soil, it doesn't like it too wet or too dry. It can be sensitive to urban pollutants and is best suited for a natural setting. Not a common plant in the wild or in cultivation. It can be semi-evergreen in warmer climates.
