This native plant is a butterfly magnet. Small white flowers that bloom in groups emerge during late summer and bloom till fall. Historically used in medical herb gardens since foliage has medicinal properties.

A host plant for several species of Lepidoptera including the Three-Lined Flower moth. The seeds will be enjoyed by birds in the fall.

Naturally found in wet areas like along stream banks and wet meadows. It would be a great addition to rain gardens that double as a pollinator garden!  Not usually eaten by deer, the foliage is rough and bitter to the taste.
