This native shrub forms a colony and provides wonderful summer cone shaped white flowers. Butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds all love the blooms! A wonderful option for shaded areas and great border plant. Flower panicles are quite large and showy blooming in mid to late summer. The dark green leaves are large, compound, and provide beautiful cover. Produces buckeye nut that is inedible to humans and pets, although you may not see many as they produce less nuts the more north you get.
A large shrub that prefers moist soils and is rather intolerant of dry soil. Naturally found throughout woodlands with rich soils.
