A beautiful summer flowering tree! Produces large white blooms with yellow centers that have a nice fragrance to them. Glossy green summer foliage and wonderful red and orange fall color.

This can be a difficult plant to establish. Good soil drainage is a must! Naturally only found along the river Altamaha River but is no longer found in the wild. You can grow history with this tree! Found by John Bartram while he and his son were on a trip in the south. He collected seed and brought it to Philadelphia to grow.
