A versatile small tree that provides dark purple red summer foliage and crimson red fall color. Producing flowers in spring that aren't showy but interesting to look at then in fall they transition to the samaras that turn red and can persist into winter. 'Bloodgood' has an more upright rounded shape that looks great as a center piece. Works well in more sun or more shade in moist well drained soils. In too much heat leaves can get scorched so afternoon shade is usually helpful. This tree will slowly reach its mature height of 15-20 feet tall and wide.
