A great selection of American Hornbeam that makes a statement with its red/orange fall color! A smaller Nativar with a nice wide canopy that is as wide as the tree is tall. Summer foliage color is a dark green with catkin flowers in April-May. Pollinators will be attracted to the blooms. A nutlet will form in fall for the wildlife to enjoy. This selection has the signature fluting on the bark that is typical of the species. 'Wisconsin Red' has a nice rounded habit. A slower growing tree makes it a nice choice for smaller landscapes. Prefers part shade and moist, well drained soil.
