Catalpa is a larger sized tree that produces showy white flowers May and June. The blooms are mostly white with yellow and purple splotches. Its leaves are heart-shaped and can be 6-12 inches long! In the fall this species will produce long seed pods that are hard to miss. 

Catalpa is naturally found in a variety of conditions, including moist lowlands and dry uplands. Because of this, it is a highly adaptable species that can be used almost anywhere in the landscape.  

This is a host species for the Catalpa Sphinx Moth. The nectar produced by the large blooms attracts bees, moths, and butterflies.
