An early bloomer signaling the spring is here! Fragrant purple blooms with red calyxs appear before the foliage. a larger shrub that looks great in a mixed border or where you need some spring color. Forms in a nice rounded habit reaching about 10 feet tall and wide. Foliage emerges a nice light green and matures to a dark green in summer. A nice fall color of yellow/orange on 'Purple Ribbons.
