Little yellow flowers dot arching stems on this fall blooming perennial. Yellow flowers contrast against the dark green leaves beautifully. The fluffy white seed heads are attractive in the fall and winter.

In addition to generalist pollinators like bumblebees goldenrod supports a long list of specialized bee species. This is a host plant for the Wavy Lined Emerald. The seeds are enjoyed by songbirds throughout the fall and winter.

This is one of the few woodland goldenrod species that tolerates some shade. Although the Broad leaf goldenrod can probably handle the most shade. Prefers dry poor soils.
