Unlike the invasive Euonymus (Burning Bush) the Eastern Wahoo supports the Geometrid Moth, the American Ermine Moth, and the ZigZag Herpetogramma Moth. The flowers attract many different types of native bees while the seeds nourish birds and mammals.
This is a tough plant, it can handle near full shade and tolerates most soil types. Since it can handle a good amount of shade and tolerate Black Walnuts' Jugalone it is a great option to pair with Black Walnuts. It is relatively fast-growing large shrub.
