This native cultivar is more compact than most. The large flowers are held upright above the foliage for a great show. The blooms will start white and then fade into a light pink in the fall. The foliage in the summer is large dark green, thick leaves that make the blooms stand out! Fall brings a wonderful fall color of dark maroon.
Although these hydrangeas can take a good amount of sun, they typically look their best in part shade. Morning sun, afternoon shade to be exact. Too much sun can cause the leaves to scorch and adequate moisture would be a must. Overall we love oak leaf hydrangeas! They are definitely a staff favorite!
